Guilderland P.B.A. Fund Raising

The Guilderland Police Benevolent Association is a not for profit organization made up of sworn members of the Guilderland Police Department. The Guilderland P.B.A.'s main objective is to support a wide variety of organizations and fund raising events. Organizations that are oriented toward youth activities, education and the preservation of life make up the majority of sponsorship from the P.B.A..

Over the years, the P.B.A. has sponsored teams with the Pine Bush Little League, Pine Bush Girls Softball, donated to the Pine Bush Little League Auxiliary, supported Guilderland Youth Soccer, donated to the Capital District K-9 Memorial, provided bicycle helmets to the youth of the town at bicycle rodeo's in recognition of National Bicycle Safety Month, and helped children in need of medical assistance, amongst many others. The P.B.A. also offers a yearly scholarship, which began in 1987. The scholarship is given to a Guilderland High School Senior furthering his or her education at the college level in the Criminal Justice field.

The P.B.A. has always been an advocate of assisting other people in need. The employees of the Guilderland Town Hall raise money on a yearly basis to provide food and presents to needy families at Christmas. The Guilderland P.B.A. always supports this endeavor. The P.B.A. also provides funds to other police officers and their families that may require special treatment for illness and where the medical costs are so exorbitant that these individuals are in need of assistance. The Guilderland Police Benevolent Association relies on the donations of the community to help us achieve the goals we have set. Our main goal, as stated, is to support other interest groups. It is the intention of the Guilderland P.B.A. to continue to support the previous organizations, as well as other organizations and events, and continue to help the community in which we serve.

The Guilderland P.B.A. conducts an annual fund drive by mail, and does not solicit over the phone. If you should ever receive any calls collecting on our behalf, DO NOT DONATE. Hang up and call the Police Department to report this at (518) 356-1501.
